The department is responsible for drilling down the strategy into annual budgets and realizing the group targets. This is done in cooperation with all sales and manufacturing entities, as well as with other departments. As a backbone for group-wide reporting, the department takes care of the management of the sales-, margin-, and pricing data, as well as collecting and reporting market intelligence. As a mission, Corporate Planning safeguards and manages profitability, via periodic reporting to top-management, close follow-up and by proposing countermeasure actions.
Furthermore, the department is responsible for the development and implementation of corporate governance and internal controls in the group (e.g. J-SOx and system access). Finally, Corporate Planning takes on any project that is considered priority by top-management. Thanks to its skilled, complementary team, the department is able to meet the deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
In addition to the group-wide responsibilities, the team is responsible for the financial controlling of the Belgian head quarter. For this latter part, we are looking for a new experienced colleague.
Job Content
- Daikin Europe NV is the central entity in the Daikin Europe group, purchasing from factories all over the world, and selling to the EMEA sales companies. We use SAP as ERP system, with Business Warehouse as reporting platform. The financial reporting tool for Corporate Planning is Essbase.
- You will be located in Brussels (Coca-Cola Building in Anderlecht) and will be actively involved in the budgeting and result follow-up of Daikin Europe NV which has a factory entity in Ostend.
- On Budget level, we gather all relevant input and create the company P/L, stock and balance sheet based on our strategy, and in close collaboration with other departments. We safeguard the targets by monitoring closely, report to top-management and steer where necessary. For example, on monthly basis we analyze and report gross margin per product and per country.
- You will assist in establishing financial and operational management reporting and ad-hoc analyses in order to provide internal and external stakeholders with the necessary information to better evaluate the business results and plan objectives.
- You will critically think along with the company and initiate and support decisions.
- Furthermore you will be involved in projects of different nature as we are an important link between various departments and subsidiaries.

- Minimum Qualifications:
- Expected educational qualifications: MSc Commercial engineer or Economic Sciences
- 3 years of experience in a similar role in controlling/audit is a plus
- Proficient level of MS office with advanced Excel knowledge
- SAP; BW knowledge is an asset
- Fluent in English as well as Dutch, as part of the company is located in Ostend
